The first five days of the six-day Skill Certification Program (Monday through Friday) are classroom sessions. On the sixth day (Saturday), a practical skills test based on their existing knowledge and what they have acquired over the previous five days will be given for 70 marks, and a live interview with 15 questions based on the previous five days of teaching will be given for 30 marks.

For the cooks and waiters programme, the Ministry of Tourism suggests a per batch strength of 25–30. With effect from April 2015, the stipend was raised to Rs. 1800. It is awarded on the sixth day of the six-day certification and comes with a certificate from the Institute of Hotel Management Chennai that has been jointly signed by the Principal and Program Coordinator.
